4-stage telescopic cylinder for compact lifting applications
Initial situation
When raising the grinding table of a grinding machine, only a very limited installation height is available. At the same time, a large stroke is required to achieve the desired adjustment movement. An additional challenge is the constant exposure of the components to grinding water, which necessitates reliable corrosion protection.
Objective
The aim was to develop a compact and high-performance lifting mechanism capable of a large stroke despite the limited installation space. At the same time, the design was to be permanently protected against corrosion and ensure reliable and precise height adjustment of the grinding table.
Our solution
We use four single-acting telescopic cylinders with four stages per grinding table. The multi-stage telescopic design allows for a long stroke whilst maintaining a very low installation height.
Each cylinder achieves a stroke of 260 mm with a minimum overall height of just 120 mm. The cylinder components have a nickel-plated surface, which reliably protects them from corrosion caused by grinding water.
