Pneumatic Positioning System for Guide Vane Adjustment
Initial situation
Compressor control requires precise regulation of the airflow in the intake duct via guide vanes. Demanding processes call for exact, highly repeatable positioning that can be reliably and permanently maintained even under dynamic load changes.
Objective
Development of a pneumatic positioning system enabling precise, dynamic control of guide vane position — with high repeatability, sufficient actuating force, and analog control capability for integration into existing control loops.
Our solution
Our pneumatic positioning system for guide vane adjustment consists of a pneumatic cylinder with integrated position measuring system (PMS), a pressure regulator, and a positioner. Through continuous setpoint-actual comparison, the desired position is precisely approached and reliably maintained, even under dynamic load changes.
The combination of precise position sensing, high dynamics, and substantial actuating force allows any position to be freely approached and enables exact control of demanding processes. The system is available in both pneumatic and hydraulic configurations.
